The Specimens!

Specimenstogether
The Specimens!, originally uploaded by awalsh09.

Today I finished the final two drawings that will become the final two prints of my Beastiarium: a series of twelve "specimen" prints on antique book pages. Six of them are above. Two of them are the new designs, Specimens 11 and 12! Do you know which ones?

Once all the final prints are made and listed in my shop, I want to do something with the different 12 images as a group. I like them side by side in a grid as these six are. I had imagined making a 2008 calendar of them but alas, its 2008 already. I could wait and do it for 2009. Or I could make a rad poster with all 12 on them. What else could I do? You tell me.

I love them! You could do notecards, t-shirts, but a poster sounds awesome.

ahhh...notecards. maybe...

A poster with all of them would be cool. And postcards! Great designs!

A set of note cards would be nice- I like the postcard idea, too. They look wonderful in the monochrome and on plain white- colors above work nicely together. Stunning illustrations!

I know what I'm going to do with all of them! I'm going to frame them all and hang them in a grid-like pattern on my wall and it will be my menagerie of fantastical and creative creatures! I will have them up and people will see them and covet them and I will be like the Dragon Smog sitting upon his treasure trove!

But notecards would be cool too. Maybe you could LuLu a self-published book with the images on one page and a description of them on the other. Kind of like a field-guide.

Amazing series!

I adore this series.
Postcards or notecards, as mentioned above, would get them out to the masses.
I'm looking forward to seeing what you'll come up with!

the more i think about it, the more i think i should make patterns for fabric out of them. right? there are enough notecards and calendars in the world. but these would make for some interesting fabric.

wallpaper!!! fantastical wall paper. their beautiful. I would love a full set framed.

Notecards would be great. I always look for new cards for thank you notes etc.
But really I think a calendar would be fantastic! And I also don't think you would necessarily have to wait until the end of the year to put a 2009 calendar up for sale. I for one would buy a couple (what a great gift that would be) right away -- and by the end of the year you prob. would be sold out.
Tote bags and cooking aprons are another idea.
